Trophy bass fishing on world famous Lake Fork

Lake Fork Report, March 30

Wow! Where did March go? Time has flown by, but you know what they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” We sure have been having fun in my boat lately. We’ve been catching some big ones here on Lake Fork, and I’ve been having great trips on some nearby lakes on days when I expect tough fishing on Lake Fork. While I guide primarily on Lake Fork, it’s my job to be on fish for my customers first and foremost. Occasionally, a little extra driving time pays off. We’re blessed here in East Texas with good fishing on several lakes.

A cold front is passing through as I write this report, so I’m not sure how much the water temperature will be affected. As of yesterday afternoon, it was pushing 60 degrees on the main lake and a little warmer in the creeks. That will definitely change with the next several nights in the 30’s according to the forecast. Cold fronts shut down the Florida strain bass we have in Lake Fork more than most visitors can imagine. We will see how the next few days play out, but a big one could still come on any cast. That’s the beauty of Lake Fork.

Here are some highlights from the past several trips. I have pictures of several bigger ones from this week, but I’ll post them next time.
